Many view the practice of helping others as a spiritual tradition that fosters the proverbial “goodwill” towards all.
Such a tradition reflects the teachings of Jesus.
Some people view the divine figure called Christ Jesus as simply a historical, charismatic mortal preacher. Not me. I view him as a divine presence who wants the best for all. Interestingly, many who do not recognize the holy status of the man from Nazareth hold great respect for his love, kindness, and the wisdom he shared with others. It’s for good reason that he remains an indelible figure in our present time.
His teachings continue to impress upon many the importance of loving and caring for one another, especially those of us experiencing hardships. Because many people will find this time of year difficult to bear amid persistent struggles, what better example than Jesus’ teachings to show the true meaning of the holiday season?
