April is Autism Awareness Month (and April second is Autism Awareness Day). The Health-promoting Bandwagon is lighting it up blue in honor of everyone with an autism spectrum disorder. Let’s remember that those on the spectrum are members of our community who are deserving of living a fulfilling life.

Lighting it up blue includes the recognition given to the healthcare providers and educators who strive to help these precious individuals to function well in the community. And for the families of these individuals whose compassion is evident in all they do for their beloved on a day-to-day basis, they are equally deserving of this accolade.

While April is designated for this notable honor, it’s a recognition that warrants attention throughout the Year.
